Handball (also known as team handball, Olympic handball, European team handball, European handball, or Borden ball is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outfield players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the other team. A standard match consists of two periods of 30 minutes, and the team that scores more goals wins.

Achievements 

As The Philippine Handball tournament ended CSA Handball club had one CHAMPION

with only 1 defeat.  JOAQUIN TONG of Colegio San Agustin Makati for winning the BEST GOAL KEEPER award for the Boys U17 category of the 2015 Philippine Handball League. Paolo Tulayba had also one the MOST VALUABLE PLAYER award so all in all after 2 straight weekends of the tournaments Colegio San Agustine handball club had bagged a total 3 awards for the tournament

My Experience withBrazilian Jiu jitsu by Sam Claro

My experience with Brazilian Jiu-jitsu (BJJ) - Samuel Tristan Claro

For those who are unaware Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is an martial art that involves the use of your body to control someone else's without the use of strikes. The techniques of BJJ mainly consist of various chokes, joint locks and cranks to force the opponent to submit aka the “tapout”. What is a tapout you might ask? When a opponent puts you in a submission, that is either a choke or a joint lock and when the pain becomes too unbearable you will have to give up by tapping out, resulting in the opponent releasing the hold and achieving victory therefore losing the fight.

Back in our one-week APEC break, my mom and I decided to go to Singapore to visit my brother that studies there. I have made it a personal goal that at this vacation I wasn’t going to gain weight, I would actually do something productive. Since my brother was already really into BJJ (Brazilian Jiu JItsu) I had an upper hand because I wasn’t going in blindly because my brother has been training in a gym called BJJSin (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Singapore)

 This whole time while we were just sight seeing the back of my mind I knew that I was going to my first BJJ class and I was terrified. The reason I was so scared is because first timers have to roll, rolling is the BJJ term for sparring and my brother told me early on that I would have to drop my ego because I would get tapped… a lot. By the end of that session I did get tapped… a lot. Obviously I’m exaggerating, but rolling for me anyways was actually really fun! I got tapped thrice out of the rolls I did. I did successfully tap one guy and almost another but the timer ran out. I didn't know much but each time I rolled I use the techniques that I learned I learn even more.This gave me a confidence boost and I wasn't scared to roll anymore even if the person was bigger than me.

The people there were really nice from the coaches to the people I was drilling with, you don’t feel out of place and this is why BJJ people are one of the best people to be friends with because in BJJ especially you need to have an healthy ego because you will get tapped in a regular basis and if you have an ego you will not last. Its just a place where different people: students, businessmen etc. all go to this one place and everyone is the same no matter where you come from BJJ is universal. Without dragging this blog too long I will have one final message, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a martial art that I recommend to everyone I know, and this is coming from someone who just took his first first class two months ago. Just try and stick to it for a while and you will see the changes in all aspects of your life

Away From the City

            Life in the city is fast-paced. We barely appreciate our surroundings. We stress out on our jobs, deadlines, requirements, et cetera. Let's give ourselves a break!

                             

                                                     

                                     

 Not far from the busy Metro, Nuvali, located in Santa Rosa is a good place to spend a day or two. Being one with nature and getting involved in different sports and activities, you will surely have a great break.

            I spent my day and NUVALI playing football and biking. I really love getting involved in physical activities. It relieves my stress from school. You can also, wakeboard, rappel, zipline, and camp with your friends! Everything just gets more fun when you're with your friends. 

                             

                                                

            Nuvali is certainly a great place to spend your break! I and my friends had a great time and it surely made or brotherhood stronger. What a great place! I will surely spend more days at NUVALI.

           Here in Philippine wake boarding world, there is the best restaurant that any wakeboarder by heart should know ... "Rose and Grace" With officially one of the best names, this Rose and Grace located in the nuvali wake park near the lagoon. This restaurant is primarily based in Filipino cuisine, with appetizers like Lumpiang Fresh, and main dishes like Bautista Tagalog or Adobo. Definitely Filipino. The thing about Rose and Grace just that seperates it from all other restaurants if the truly filipino vibe of the restaurant. From the staff, the food and even the doors, this restaurant screams out Filipino. It's something to be proud of if you ask me.

          The Lechon and Rice in this restaurant brings quality Filipino food to a whole other dimensione. It makes the whole experience much more wonderful NUVALI if accompanied with good friends and good food. I would tell all my friends around the globe about this restaurant, if they wanted to know what a great time meant in Filipino. NUVALI has some very good options but I rank this as the best, even though I am no master cuisine, I love food as much as the next guy.

If Filipino is not your main craving NUVALI has the answer to all your problems. There is a Japanese restaurant Domo Volume and classic Italiannis for the Italian Cuisine. You will not feel bored in Nuvali, there is always something to do if your willing to explore out of your comfort zone. You can meet random strangers and have them become a new friend, a place where happiness is the norm. Nuvali is the place.
